BJP becomes part of PPA Govt in Arunachal
Taga inducted in Pema cabinet

ITANAGAR, Oct 14: With the induction of BJP stalwart Tamiyo Taga in the state cabinet, the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh has formally become a part of the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) government on Friday.
The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh V. Shanmuganathan administered the oath of office and secrecy to BJP senior leader and MLA Taga in presence of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Speaker of State Legislative Assembly TN Thongdok, State Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, members of State Legislative Assembly and senior State bureaucrats at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhawan. The BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav also attended the swearing in ceremony.
It was speculated that Minister Industry and Handicraft Tapang Taloh would be dropped from the cabinet by CM Khandu to accommodate BJP stalwart Taga in his cabinet. Sources closed to the government informed The Arunachal Times that Taloh had submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday, however, there is no official confirmation from the Chief Minister’s Office.
With the induction of Rumgong MLA in the cabinet, it seems that month-long much speculated relationship between Kandu led People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance government has been cemented.
The state BJP Unit felt that induction of former Leader of Opposition in the Cabinet was long-overdue, as the PPA government is also member of BJP led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
Interacting with media persons after swearing-in, Taga said, "After getting permission from the party leaders at Centre, I am being inducted today, actually induction should have been done six months ago".
On the dropping of Minister Industry & Handicraft to accommodate him, Taga further retorted that someone has to be dropped to accommodate others that do not mean there is rift in the party. He also affirmed that all the legislators of his community is still united, and his induction and dropping of Pangin-Boleng MLA will not affect their relationship.
Taga's name was also doing round for induction in the Cabinet during late Kalikho Pul government after the BJP had extended full outside support to Pul led Congress dissident members. However, with the Supreme Court judgment in which Nabam Tuki government was restored, it spoilt the BJP dreams to see Taga as Cabinet Minister. It found glimmer of hope after CM Khandu led Congress legislators merged with the PPA and joined NEDA.
APCC challenges merger of MLAs to PPA
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker to disqualify 43 INC MLAs under anti-defection law for joining People's Party of Arunachal (PPA).
APCC in a release stated that it has filed a petition to the Speaker on October 14 challenging the merger of 43 INC MLAs to PPA in violation of Anti-Defection Law.
APCC said it prayed for disqualification of those MLAs as member of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly under Article 191(2) (read with clause 2 of the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India and Members of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (disqualification on ground of defection) Rules, 1987/2003 for 'voluntarily' giving up the membership of their original political party-- the Indian National Congress-- and joining PPA.
"Although a notification was issued by the Legislative Assembly showing these MLAs as PPA MLAs but no separate order for merger has been issued," APCC claimed.
"The Speaker did not recognize the merger and no order was passed permitting merger of the 43 INC MLAs with PPA. However, these 43 INC members have voluntary joined PPA and are holding various positions and other offices without any legal sanction, authority and competence," the APCC release stated.
"The INC is the original political party of 43 MLAs and admittedly there is no merger of INC with PPA, but the 43 MLAs have joined PPA voluntarily without giving up the membership of the INC."
"Direction may kindly be issued to the respondents that none of the Council of Minister, Parliamentary Secretary and other holders of position shall act or function in their respective capacity and further restrain the respondent from acting in any manner in discharge of functions as Minister, Parliamentary Secretary or any other position," the APCC said.
"The petition may be decided expeditiously in the larger interest of State preferably within 3 weeks," the APCC release added.
NEEPCO assures to commission Bichom Dam by October 2017
BOMDILA, Oct 14: Chief Minister Pema Khandu accompanied by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Friday visited Bichom Dam Complex site of 600MW Kameng Hydro Electric Project. Chief Minister Khandu met with officials from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Ltd, which is constructing the dam, to discuss the hydropower project.
NEEPCO officials assured CM that the project will be commissioned by October 2017 next. Since the construction started in 2005, the Kameng Hydro Electric Project (KHEP) has faced continuous delays.
The assurance of completion within the stipulated time was also conveyed to Prime Minister in his recent meeting, informed the Chief Minister and urged the NEEPCO officials to stand by their commitment and not to miss the target.
The Chief Minister had interaction with engineers from Patel Engineering, which is carrying out the civil works for the Bichom dam. They informed that they have completed excavation work of 4.4 km long head race tunnel and construction of 2 sluices.
Rijiju speaking with NEEPCO officials informed that he had asked the ministry of Power, Govt of India to immediately lift the ban on recruitment process to enable local youths to be employed in the company.
Calling for strengthening NEEPCO, the Union Minister suggested that most of the hydropower projects in North East region should be executed by PSUs like NEEPCO, which has better understanding of the region and its geography.
He also informed that Nafra hydroelectric project and Dikshi project is being taken up with Ministry of Power for its early execution. NEEPCO officials assuring to meet the deadline informed that 78% work completion has been met. They informed that the work is progressing smoothly and work on land compensation, rehabilitation and resettlement has been completed.
The Chief Minister also visited the Bichom model village, where affected people have been resettled and rehabilitated. 86 affected families presently inhabit the village. The model village has a school, playground and other public facilities. The NEEPCO officials informed that the rest of 13 families have been resettled in Yayung village.
Parliamentary Secretary (PHE & WS) Kumsi Sidisow, who is also the local representative, informed that the process of rehabilitation was carried out successfully with help from NEEPCO authorities, district administration and the state government.
Rijiju lauded the model village and termed it as 'one of the best resettlement site'. To a request from an affected person for enabling mobile connectivity in the village, the Union Minister informed the central government is giving high priority to it and has sanctioned Rs 1500 crore alone for enabling 3G internet services in remote areas of Arunachal. Parliamentary Secretary (Health & FW) Phurpa Tsering, Bomdila MLA Japu Deru and West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Sonal Swaroop accompanied the visiting team.
Candidates allege foul play in MPW/MTS recruitment

DAPORIJO, Oct 14: Alleging foul play in the recently conducted recruitment for the MPW/MTS under Health department at Daporijo, the candidates have called on the district authorities for postponing the viva voice result of Oct 8.
The candidates have called on Upper Subansiri Deputy Commissioner AK Singh and submitted a representation in this regard.
DC Singh informed that an officer had been deputed to inquire into the matter after receiving the complaint from the candidates and later the recruitment process was continued as usual finding the allegations baseless.
The candidates stated that many deserving candidates were deprived as many kiths and kins of medical officers have been selected in the final result. Further many candidates who have passed their tenth standard from Open School have been selected but candidates who have completed their graduation,
post-graduation and even candidates who have qualified for mains of state civil service many times have not qualified in the MPW/MTS recruitment, which points at the foul play in the recruitment process, stated the candidates.
The candidates also stated that most of the selected candidates were not rejected from the recruitment process for writing their names on the answer sheets, although when all were instructed not to write anything on the answer sheets.
Team of engineers inspects damaged road
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: A team of RWD engineers led by Seppa EE RWD, Taluk Rai inspected Sangbia to Paffa PMGSY road in Khenewa circle, East Kameng district on Oct 9, 10 and 11 last, which was damaged during the Oct 7 flash floods.
Informing this in a release on Friday, one Mache Sono of M/S Peno Enterprise, East Kameng further claimed that a RCC bridge of 11 mtr span, 26 nos. of culverts, 5 Km WBM and a 950 mtrs long PMGSY bridge were damaged due to flood triggered landslides which occurred at various locations along the said road causing blockade of road communication in the area.
She further appealed to the concern authority to take necessary steps to clear the said road and allocate necessary fund for its restoration at the earliest.
AASSATA declares seven days tool down strike

ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Agitated with alleged unresponsive attitude of the state government towards their charter of demands including single window for PRT and Assistant Teacher, batch wise regularization, enhancement of in-service SSA teachers' salary and early release of two months pending salary, All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers' Association (AASSATA) on Friday declared seven days Pen/Tool Down strike as 3rd phase of democratic movement from October 24 onwards. This was informed by the Pen down strike Chairman cum Vice President AASSATA Nabam Dokho along with AASSATA President Tagru Kasha at Press Club here.
Addressing the media persons the Chairman informed that all SSA teachers shall abstain from teaching during seven days of Pen/Tool Down strike. However, Nabam maintained that teachers would be remain in the schools but will not teach.
As a part of modus operandi, the teachers were asked to put signature on their attendance register but remain off from the class room duty. He also clarified that if any teacher take undue advantage during the period of strike and remain absent from the school, the AASSATA shall not be responsible for any stern action from the authority.
Justifying their proposed agitation, AASSATA President Tagru Kasha claimed that the present Chief Minister does not pay heed to their grievances.
"We have submitted representation thrice to Chief Minister and also sought appointment to brief our demands, sadly there is no response so far from the CMO".
Reiterating their charter of demands, Kasha claimed that former Chief Minister Kalikho Pul had assured to address their demands. " If late Pul could assure to address our genuine demands, why can't' present Chief Minister" he questioned alleging that the state government is ignoring their issues.
Earlier, AASSATA had temporarily suspended its proposed 2nd Phase democratic movement which was supposed to launch in May 23-25, 2016 following the assurance came from late CM Kalikho Pul.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Teachers Association Central Executive Member extended moral support to the AASSATA in their movement. ATA CEC General Secretary Taniya Hakom who accompanied the AASSATA members in the Press meet, however made it clear that ATA will not join their proposed Pen Down strike. He further opined that the state government should take SSA teachers' issue seriously and resolve it immediately.
Namchoom calls for making Drug De-Addiction Centre functional
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Expressing concern on the defunct Drug De-Addiction Centre at Lathao, Parliamentary Secretary Planning, Chow Zingnu Namchoom has called on the Health Minister Jomde Kena to make it functional at the earliest to rehabilitate the drug affected youths of Namsai district.
Namchoom who is also the local legislator of Namsai, called on Minister of Health Jomde Kena at his office accompanied by ZPC Namsai, Chow Kyasing Mounglang, Anchal Chairperson, C.O.Maio and Women Welfare Society Namsai, General Secretary Nang Pinjira Namchoom.
Health Minister Jomde Kena has assured to look into the matter as early as possible.
Earlier, Namchoom apprised the Health Minister of the situation prevalent due to drugs menace amongst the youths of Namsai district and the need to immediately make the defunct De-Addiction Centre functional. He informed that Namsai district which is badly affected from drug menace and the worst affected are the youths. To help the addicts particularly the youths in the recovery process a rehabilitation centre is must. The rehabilitation centre can hold various de-addiction drives and can provide opportunity for addicts to enter into a comfortable atmosphere where they can meet and relate to other addicts, Namchoom added.
He said that due to non-posting and absence of doctors and other para-medical staffs at the De-Addiction Centre, the centre could not be made functional till date. The foundation stone for the De-Addiction Centre was laid on February 27, 2008 and completed in March 2011.
Namchoom requested the minister to prioritize the matter and to post doctors, para-medical staffs, other supporting staffs and provide necessary equipment, medicines, furniture to make the De-Addiction centre functional.
Further, Namchoom also put emphasis for declaring the Namsai CHC to District Hospital subsequent upon creation of Namsai as new district to benefit the people of the district.
BJP joins Govt after discussion at top level: Madhav
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: The BJP National General Secretary cum in-charge of northeast region Ram Madhav said that BJP's decision to join government as coalition partner was taken after wide consultation in party at the top most level with the primary intention of bringing all the benefits of various developmental schemes and programmes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He said this on Friday while attending the two days State Council Meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Friday. Further he expressed hope that Pema Khandu government will bring about transformation in governance with support of the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh.
While congratulating the delegates of the State Council Meeting for coming back to power after a gap of more than a decade in Arunachal Pradesh, Madhav has urged the party workers to work constructively for the all round development as party is now in power in the state. He opined that this time the BJP was here to stay. He observed that as BJP is now the coalition partner in the Government, it has to follow certain principles as a responsible coalition partner. He assured the gathering that BJP government at the Centre will extend all the possible support to state Govt to realize the development goals envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Madhav also stated that the main reason for high corruption in Arunachal Pradesh is because of high expenditure candidates incur during election. This in turn leads to a vicious cycle of corruption once a candidate gets elected. He said that the only way to break this cycle is by abstaining from this practices and resorting to value based politics.
In his presidential address President, BJP, Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao opined that it is very fortunate that BJP karyakartas of the present time has the privilege of working under the leadership of a visionary and dynamic leader like Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He advised that in order to bring the larger goals of BJP to fruition in Arunachal Pradesh, all the party workers have to work hard at the grassroots level to strengthen the party right down to the booth level in the villages. To achieve this objective, he laid down various task and activities that the party functionaries have to carry out from the polling booth level to the state level.

Disease-free healthy society, responsibility of all stakeholders: DC
ZIRO, Oct 14: Lower Subansiri DC-cum-Chairman District Health Society, Kemo Lollen said that it is the collective responsibility of all the stakeholders to ensure a disease-free healthy society.
He was addressing a meeting of the District Health Society, Ziro which was held at the Conference Hall, General Hospital here on Friday, to review its performance for the first and second quarter of the current fiscal.
Expressing satisfaction with the performances of the doctors, nurses and other paramedical staffs in implementing various centrally sponsored health schemes, Lollen said health sector is a department which demands sincerity and missionary zeal for better services to the people.
On being informed about the non-submission of weekly reports by few Medical Officers, he called for regular reporting so as to keep the Health Management Information System (HMIS) portal updated. He further directed the DMO to conduct a separate meeting with all the MOs to familiarize them with the HMIS.
DMO, Dr. Tage Kano, in his address informed that the 'Jan Aushadhi' medical store, has been opened in the General Hospital, Ziro, which is the second in entire North East. It is a Government of India initiative to make available quality generic medicines at affordable prices to the poor.
Program coordinators of NHM activities, Dr. Derin Likar also spoke in detail about the implementation of various centrally sponsored health schemes in the district like Rashtriya Kishori Suraksha Karyakram, Rashtriya Bal Suraksha Karyakram, Janani Suraksha Yojana, Integrated Diarrhea control, Mission Indradhanush, etc.
Program Coordinator for Vector-Borne Disease, Dr. K Tama informed that 32,470 LLIN mosquito nets have been so far distributed in the district through ASHAs while, program coordinators for IDSP/CND, Dr. D Duri, RNTCP, Dr. H. Nebo and NPBC, Dr. D Grayu gave details of their activities for the first and the second quarter of the current fiscal through a Powerpoint presentation.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Kime Horming, Executive Engineer RWD, Toko Ottu, Deputy Director, ICDS, representatives from Education, Power and PHE departments, consultants of various health programs, MOs and medical staffs. (DIPRO)
Worried about silting of WRC fields Rani villagers requests MLA for solution

PASIGHAT, Oct 14: Worried over yearly silting of the WRC fields of Rani Village by Tolon River, also called 'Pagla Nadi', the villagers invited the local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary, Agriculture, Tatung Jamoh on Wednesday to brief about the ordeals faced by them.
The villagers headed by Sille-Oyan Anchal Block, ZPM, Tajing Taki, Gaon Buras, All Rani Students' Union and senior citizens of the village submitted a two-point memorandum to the local MLA which included early construction of a flood control measures along the course of Tolon River towards the village and construction of drainage system in the village.
The ZPM along with Gaon Burah T Tamuk and Tanon Tatak, Secretary Finance, ABK (apex) narrated and recalled the history of Rani Village.
"The village which was known as the rice producing village in the district since 1974-75, a total of 127 WRC fields of various households has been damaged by the river till now. 20 per cent of the village population is left without any field leaving many to misery," they said.
They further said that if the river is not tamed, other downstream villages like Bamin, Tode and Remi will also get affected.
Responding to the memorandum of the villagers, local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary, Tatung Jamoh assured that he will take up the matter with Chief Minister so that a proper plan to control the river from further silting can be initiated. He further assured the villagers of a scheme for CC drainage in this financial year.
Jamoh urged the villagers for timely conduction of Gram Sabha and Anchal Sabha meetings.
Rupees Ten Note - Worth Million Dollars

"Sulu, I have heard you got a job as babu (UDC). It is time you learn to earn for yourself and study. We are running short of money and cannot afford any more", my father told me after my final exam for graduation and had got an offer letter to join as Upper Divisional Clerk in the Department of Power, Arunachal Government sometime during 1994.
The tone he used was more of he daring me and pushing me to edges just as mother penguins nudges its child off the cliff into the sea to teach them to swim.
I turned to my mother and asked her, "Yanw (mother) ....shall I join service as babu now or should I study till I become officer (saab)."
"Oka (nick name) ...you must study till you become an officer." Mother says me tenderly.
"Yanw ...to study I need money. Can you give me money for my journey and stay in Shillong while I study and prepare for exams?" I asked her.
"Yes, Oka, I will give your required money," she says and takes out a crumpled Rupees Ten Note and gives me.
A tear drops down my eyes. I look at her innocent face and feel her simple but intense desire for her son to make a mark of his own, in life. This moment lives forever in my memory haunting me with all the pain and misery that my parents took to educate me.
During 1994, when this incident took place, a bus ride from Ziro to Itanagar and then to Shillong used to cost Rs350. But my mother who was illiterate and confined to life within our small village could hardly comprehend how much it cost to study in Shillong, a regional city and education hub of North East India.
I joined as UDC in Power Deptt, Bomdila during my vacation for some months, left the service and went to study again. In this way I obeyed both my father and mother's wishes. Luckily for me and my mother who risked the away the service in hand, I passed Civil Services Exams in the year 1997 and got into one of the Elites Services with Government of India.

Sixteen years down the line, in the winter of the year 2010, I visit my son in boarding school. When he demands this thing and that thing as his friends parents are giving, I tell him..." Novy my son, your friends are children of rich people. So they can afford all the luxuries of life. Your mother and me can barely afford to pay your school and boarding fees. Learn to live within your means. Whatever you require to study, we shall make it good. BUT beyond that....it will be difficult for us." I tell him.
Next year, while we are driving home for vacation, sonny Dingyang says.."Dad, you know I am giving tuitions to my friends in school."
"Oh that's wonderful. On what subjects and what for you are giving tuitions."
"I give tuitions in Mathematics, Science And Social Science to my classmates. Some give me biscuits, some others eatables and other items of day today requirement. And few of them teach me Hindi and Sankrit in which I am weak, in exchange for me teaching them Science and Mathematics."
"Oh .. that is wonderful. But take care, that in tutoring others, you don't forget, you have to study for your exam as well." I tell him.
"No way, Dad. I will always be first in Mathematics, Science and Social studies." He retorts.
The year is 2012 and for last two years he has been keeping his words.
'Let's see what future holds for the children' is every parent's apprehension. I am no exception to this apprehension.

My experience is ....morning doesn't always show the day. A bright morning may usher bright day. Equally a bright morning may give way to dark and stormy day as well. So also, a promising child may grow up to be a person of honor and dignity and prosper and become wise in life to remain as asset to family and society or may wither away in the process of growing up and turned out to be a liability to the family and the society.
Equally, a very unpromising and dull child may grow up to be a person of great wisdom, honor and dignity and remain as irreplaceable asset to society or may grow along the charted character of the childhood and turn out to be an undesirable liability to the family and the society.
Who knows what future beckons the life of our youngsters, but as parents, we keep our fingers crossed with prayers in our heart wondering what future holds for our children … Isn't it my friends?

Life Skills Management programme at GHSS Roing
ROING, Oct 14: A Life Skills Management Programme for the senior students of Govt Higher Secondary, School, Roing was organised by AMYAA NGO on Friday.
As defined by WHO Life skills basically mean "the abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life".
Resource person, Secretary AMYAA, R.K Paul Chawang made a presentation highlighting various life skills such as Self-Awareness, Good Communication, Interpersonal Skill, Emotional Management, Time Management, Organizational Skill, Decision-Making, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking and Problem Solving Skills.
The resource person helped the students to realize and understand that they are in the most critical phase of an individual. It denotes the transitional stage from childhood to adulthood marked by conspicuous physical, cognitive, emotional and social changes.
The presentation was accompanied by video clips, games, interaction and group discussions. The programme was attended by AMYAA staff, teachers and 350 senior students from Govt Higher Secondary School, Roing.
Education officers call on to Adviser to CM

PASIGHAT, Oct 14: Education Officers of Mebo Sub-Division led by DDSE, Pasighat, Jongge Yirang called on to local MLA cum Adviser to Chief Minister, Lombo Tayeng at his residence at Motum Village on Thursday to discuss about various developmental issues related to education.
The visiting officers apprised Tayeng regarding the need of games and sports activities in schools at Upper Primary level for overall development of the growing children.
"The present system of education is concentrated only at classroom activities and does not cover the concept of developing the three domains i.e. cognitive domain, effective domain and psychomotor development of the growing children," said DDSE Jongge Yirang. It will also help develop self confidence and competitiveness among the students. However, due lack of resources, the department is not in a position to carry out the activities, he said.
After a patient hearing and thorough interaction, Tayeng agreed to sponsor the games and sports activities at UPS level.
Appreciating the effort of the education officers, Tayeng directed to make it an annual event. He also advised them to constitute a Block Level Committee and chart out the modalities and submit the same by October 20.
Wushu team brings laurels to State
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Arunachal Pradesh Wushu team secured the second runner-up spot overall with six gold and one silver medals in the just concluded 16th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship (Boys & Girls) at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Manipur emerged overall team champions.
Obur Siboh, Onilu Tega, Lucy Miuli and Taug Ama won a gold medal each in women's Sanshou (fight) while Mercy Ngaimong and Neyman Wangsu won a gold medal each in women's Chanquan (Taolu).
The silver medal was bagged by Yorna Roshni in Spear (Taolu).
It is worth mentioning here that all the medals were bagged by women players.
Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association (APWA) president Toko Teki received the victorious team at Naharlagun Railway Station this morning and congratulated all the medal winning players for their stunning performance in the championship.
It is a matter of great pride that the players from the state have displayed outstanding performance despite lack of infrastructure. Our players competed neck and neck with players from states, like Manipir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and clinched the overall second runner up trophy, an elated Teki said.
This is result of joint efforts by the players and the support team, the APWA president said.
Coach M. Premchandra Singh led the team with Techi Juna as the manager.
Parl Secy urges sports officials to work hard
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Parliamentary Secretary (Sports & Youth Affairs) Nyamar Karbak urged the officials of his departments to work hard to promote sports so that the talented youths can avail the facilities provided by the state government.
Interacting with the officials at Chimpu during his maiden visit to the Directorate, Karbak said that the youths of the state have lot of potential but they need proper training, guidance and motivation.
When apprised him of the various problems faced by the sports departments due to lack of coaches, non-posting of DSOs in various districts, group C and D staff Karbak assured to take up all the pending issues and matters with concern minister and chief minister for appropriate action to redress the early problems at the earliest.
Director Youth Affairs DK Dinglow apprised Karbak of various challenges being faced by the Department. The Director urged the Parliamentary Secretary to create posts of coaches, DSOs and group C & D posts.
Saying that functioning of the department has been badly affected due to non availability of supporting staff in the districts, he impressed upon the Parliamentary Secretary of the need to create required posts for smooth functioning of the department in all the districts.

Later, the parliamentary secretary along with Tadar Appa, Gumnya Karbak, Gechi Doke and Heri Robin interacted with the Arunachal football players for upcoming Dr T Ao North East Football Tournament at their camp to boost their morale.
While interacting with players, Karbak urged them to play the game with sportsman spirit and advised them to maintain their fitness so as to perform well in the game.
Gotu TK Darka, NEFTU FC register wins

AALO, Oct 14: Gotu TK Darka edged past Sipu FC 3-2 in a pool 'B' match in the Binga Ete Memorial Football Tournament, 2016 at general ground here on Friday.
Bani Ngopak scored all the goals for Gotu TK Darka while Dagyom Lomi and Jumdo Doji scored for Sipu FC.
Gotu TK Darka won its first match against FC DPGC Kamki.
Sipu FC, who suffered a heart-breaking 0-6 loss to Memo United FC in the first match, remained winless and is almost out of the tournament.
Gotu TK Darka will take on Memo United FC, who has scored nine goals in two matches so far, in its last league match on October 18.
Sipu FC will be trying to taste their first victory when they will take on FC DPGC Kamki on the same day.
Earlier, NEFTU FC kept their hope for a quarterfinals berth alive with a 2-1 victory over Sora Bros FC in a thrilling pool C encounter.
Raken Lendo and Pagdo Loya scored for NEFTU FC while Paktu Basar netted a consolation goal for Sora Bros FC.
Newcomer NEFTU FC drew its opening league match against Kombo FC while Sora Bros FC is yet to taste win. The team drew its first match with SFS FC.
On Saturday, Kombo FC will take on SFS FC while Puakgumin YC will play Kabu FC.
Use of IMFL, drugs banned in village
YINGKIONG, Oct 14: The Women Welfare Society of Gette village under Yingkiong has decided to ban use of IMFL in the village.
Vehemently condemning the distribution of IMFL during elections, the Women Welfare Society has decided to imposed fine of Rs.2 lakhs against those procuring the same. They also decided to put a complete ban on use of Bhang, Kani, Ghutka etc. Further, prohibition has been put on outsiders from conducting Tadok (local beads) business in the village, against which fines would be imposed.
The decisions were taken in a meeting attended by Gaon Burahs, PRI members of Gette village. The village is located 7 kms from Yingkiong along Yingkiong- Likor-Palling Road. DIPRO
Training of Intensive Forestry concludes
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: The two-month long intensive training programme of forestry students from different colleges of Dehradun, Uttrakhand concluded on October 13. The State Forest Research Institute, Department of Environment and Forests, had conducted the programme.
CCF cum Director, SFRI, N. Tam gave away the certificates to the successful candidates. Advising the trainees to be more sincere, dedicated and hardworking, Tam suggested the trainees not only to look for state services but also focus on All India Services and compete in UPSC and other national examinations. He also informed that the Department of Environment and Forests will continue to provide such training on forestry based activities in the days to come.
Scientist and Course Coordinator, R.K. Taj informed that 30 students had been trained under different circles and Forest Divisions on forestry and working experience in various sectors including wildlife management and conservation,
Bio-Diversity, Working Plan, GIS survey & mapping, Nursery management, Bamboo, Cane, Medicinal Plants, Orchids, FDAs, Forest conservation, Timber management, etc. He suggested the trained students for meaningful application of knowledge that has been acquired during the training.
DFO, Silviculture, Nani Sha, Dr. L.R. Bhyuan, Systematic Botanist and Techi Rotu, from Poma Bamboo Processing Centre also spoke on the occasion.
Exposure visit for farmers
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Altogether 37 farmers from Yomcha circle of West Siang district availed exposure visit and training programme at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Basar. Aimed at triggering use of modern technology and organic practice in agri-horti cultivation system and discouraging shifting agriculture system, more than two members of the 15 farmers club of Yomcha circle participated in the three days programme.
Scientists from ICAR gave theoretical as well as practical knowledge on topics such as vermicompost, animal husbandry, poultry, pest diseases and their control, mushroom cultivation, farmer- scientist interaction programme etc.
The training programme was sponsored by NABARD, Itanagar.
DEO directs BLOs to report back to station
KOLORIANG, Oct 14: The District Election Officer (DEO) Kurung Kumey district has directed all the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Kurung Kumey and Kra-Daadi Districts to report back to their respective polling stations by Oct 16 and resume their duties.
The DEO directed all the officials engaged in the Electoral Summary Revision with respect to Jan 1, 2017 as qualifying date to be sincere and dedicated to ensure that the electoral rolls are error free. He requested all concern to extend their full cooperation to the election officials. The DEO also cautioned that no one will be spared for dereliction of their election duties and stringent disciplinary actions shall be initiated against the erring officials. DIPRO
Social service conducted
ITANAGAR, Oct 14: Reverend Deepak Nabam with his staff members of Deepak Nabam Ministries in Christ conducted repair works at Senki Park CC Pavement road here on Friday.
In the daylong social service, the damaged portion of the CC pavement on both sides was filled with mud. The damaged portion of the road nearby the culvert point was also repaired by filling boulders and mud. The nearby drain was also cleared off.

Since cold war days Russia’s has been India’s trusted friend and has supported India at various international platforms. Dear Editor,
Mind it, every mortal human, be politician or public or government employee or anybody in the Planet and Cosmos are gifted with a life to love, share, empower, enable and protect one another, and that remains fundamental rule of existence in the Creation.
Anybody, everybody, who blatantly and ruthlessly disregard the rule of God shall be judged and punished severely without an exception.
And when the Omnipotent Lord strikes, all exploitative and sinning human powers shall be crushed to powerlessness, and demolished to helplessness and wretchedness.
The Cosmos is the utmost loved and protected creation of God, and all the infinite entities including each and every human here are cared for and protected with omnipotent powers and omniscient intelligence.
Let’s follow rule of the Creator, let’s regard, rejoice and celebrate in his kingdom to earn his sacred blessings and blissful living.

A neglected frontier village
Dear Editor,
It has been 69 years India attained her Independence, being a citizen of this great country I feel extremely proud to be an Indian. During these 69 years our country has made tremendous progress in the field of science and technologies; we also joined the elite club of few selected country who have sent a mission to mars. On the other hand, people of Taksing Village under Upper Subansiri district is deprived of all those developmental activities, still local peoples have to resort to tiresome and risky four day trek to reach nearest motorable road. Recently one young person Talok Chader has lost his life in an unfortunate incident of landslide enroute to Taksing. I don’t know whom to blame for premature death of young life; whether the state government or central government.
We have been sentinel of the country since time immortal but in return what we are
get is underdevelopment and apathy of the Union and state government. It is pertinent
to be mentioned that Taksing is a frontier village which is located at advance position
than defence agencies near Indo-
Taksing has bumper production of different varieties of vegetable and fruits, which can easily feed the entire population of Upper Subansiri district at least for one session. However in absence of road, product perishes.
Despite all those negligence by the government, we have hope, a hope that inspires us to dream to have well connected road, a dream of prosperity and a dream of better future.
Two suggestions for the state and central govt:
1. Establish one GREF camp at Dojbong area along with modern machines.
2. Enhance the salary of labour who is working in these hostile environments.
Last but not least our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has made a promise that by 2019 all villages of the country will have well connected road. We are hoping that our village will not be deprived of his promises.

Block the source of black money
Dear Editor,
All political parties should now raise their voice for transparency in money transactions rather than transparency in surgical strikes. It is time to demand for putting the brakes on the generation of black money by prohibiting cash transactions over Rs.50 thousand. As inflation happens when too much money chases too few goods, blocking the source of black money will certainly check price rise much to the relief of the poor people and thus help increase their purchasing power catapulting demand, industry and employment.

APTET should be necessary
Dear Editor,
It is good that upcoming teachers recruitment will be done by APPSC.
Now aspirants can hope for fairer recruitment process. As everybody knows that when department conduct interview there is lot of interference in recruitment process.
But what we want to say here is that in upcoming teachers’ recruitment, APTET should be compulsory. Otherwise what is the meaning and use of clearing APTET exam?
Many recruiting agencies like KV are asking for CTET/APTET besides B.Ed.
Therefore, we appeal to the concerned authority to ask for APTET in next teachers’ recruitment.
